It will also touch upon how International Jazz Day has mobilized the international community around this music. Key topics: cultural diplomacy, UNESCO, improvisation and freedom.

Master-class: Authentic Jazz: a dancing tribute to Thelonious Monk



An international dance artist, choreographer, performer, researcher and instructor of African-American dances, Specializing in swing dance, authentic jazz, blues, bebop, UK underground jazz styles, tap and Afro-latin, Alina has elaborated on her own dancing language to jazz and African-American music from its roots to nowadays, collaborating with top jazz dance festivals and contemporary jazz musicians.

Choreographer, professional Urban Dance, jazz dance and modern dance styles artist. She formed her unique dance style called "contemporary jazz" and performes it at the festivals and championships around the world. Following the current changes in music and dance, Marina won the reputation of a promising dancer, teacher and modern form of jazz dance and jazz culture propagandist far beyond Russia. She will conduct a master class in mixed styles from UK Jazz Dance to House Dance, using Herbie Hancock's music and modern jazz, revealing the collaborative possibilities of jazz today.
